HH: Tell us where you're from and how you got the name "PrettyBoyBeats."
PBB: PrettyBoyBeats was an personality I invented like a "Pen Name". Kind of like a black James Bond music producer type character.
HH: How long have you been in the music industry and what roles have you played?
PBB: I've been in the industry for 13 years and have played every role from loader to CEO.
HH: How would you describe "PrettyBoyBeats?" In other words, what makes your sound unique?
PBB: Very simply put, I'm original because when i sit down and make music I go by whats in my heart and soul and create original sounds. I don't remake or copy other peoples music unless I'm getting paid to specifically do that.
HH: What's your creative process? What inspires you to make beats?
PBB: My creative process is very simple, Let God walk into the room and create.
HH: Who are your favorite producers right now and why?
PBB: Right now I love Kanye West. I love how he branded himself and recreates his music and brand over and over again and has crossed over into fashion. I also love Dr. Dre of course and Dr. Luke and Stargate. They all make up the top40 of today.
HH: What advice do you have for new producers looking to get their beats heard by those in the industry?
PBB: Develop your brand and make yourself attractive so you don't have to chase people for placements.
HH: You say that you're working toward making a platinum record and earning your own spot on Billboard. What steps do you plan on taking to accomplish those goals?
PBB: Work with people who have already been to where you're trying to go and read and study what made them successful.
HH: Which, if any, mainstream artists would you like to work with and why?
PBB: Well I love Eminem, Rhianna, Justin Beiber, Katy perry and Nickel-back. Also would love to work with Carlos Santana, Shakira, of course Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga and Flo - Rida.
HH: 9. You're currently working on your first solo album. Tell us about that and what else we can expect to see from you in the next 6 months or so.
Soul Kids: You can expect to see a takeover, I'm pressing for my campaign of worldwide media domination.
HH: In your own words, what does it mean to be "Proud To Be Local?"
PBB: Proud to be local means proud to be yourself because I was local before I was worldwide. Never forgetting where you came from and your roots.
HH: Go ahead & give ya shout outs!
PBB: Special s/o to my homie J.Bone and the whole Primate Movement, Can't forget Cashville!!!!!
