James is the youngest of eleven.
His love for music,performing, and song writing began at age 13 and the artist J-Wiz emerged at East Allegheny high school. Where he is an alumnus,J-Wiz began to build his fan base. He has performed and written songs for many local productions in the Pittsburgh area.
Shortly after graduating from high school. He teamed up with Mozart productions based in New York and recorded his first track,entitled "The Time's Right."
From there,James and his brother Norman decided to take matters in their own hands and started their own independent record label. With Norman as his inspiration, mentor and primary support, J-Wiz has completed his first mix tape "The Journey" which received four out of five stars on one of the few juggernaut mix tape sites Datpiff.com and continues to book shows all over Pittsburgh. J-Wiz has shared the stage with the likes of Jim Jones,Chopper, recorded with Freddy P and has performed with numerous acts from the Pittsburgh area. On April 29,2009,James ran into difficult times with the passing of his father, Which to him was the additional motivation to his music. James decided to take a break from music. After a few months without a lyric being wrote or recorded. James decided to regroup and focus on "The Journey 2."
J-Wiz has searched the best local studios in the Pittsburgh. From Id labs,your momz house, and the diamond building and has now made his new home which is now Mindbenders studio.
As a artist,performer,and just being himself. J-Wiz can be described as very humble yet confident. He has the versatility and artistic ability to match the caliber of any artist in todays industry.his dedication and passion for every aspect of music continues to grow along with his hunger for success.He truly surpasses the expectations and standards set by the Entertainment Industry of today. His versatility and knowledge of the music industry make him an asset to any company that signs him and a gift to the ears of the public who listens to him.
